Facebook is wanting more and more of your time and another space on your smartphone. We already have the Facebook app – then there’s the Messenger app – then there’s the Pages app – and here comes another one from the Facebook Creative Lab called Paper.
Yet, I’m very intrigued. Paper seems to be the long awaited nemesis of Flipboard…and also pretty darn close to being a knock off. I like Flipboard. I use it everyday. I started Flipboard Friday on here. But like always – I’m intrigued when new things come out that could potentially be a new way to gobble up media. Not sure if this could deter me from using Flipboard though…that’s a solid app with fun features, but either way…it looks interesting. Check out the video below…
One good thing about this is no ads. Yep – you read that right. The big social network site who has caved on the topic of ads on our feeds will not put ads on this app. Yet. One downfall I see with Paper – a big one – is that you can’t add your own content from random RSS feeds – instead a specialized team will put up what they think you want to see. Dumb. One of my favorite features of Flipboard is that you can add your own content and organize it via magazines. It’s an amazing feature. But then again – this is just the release of Paper – it might come later with future updates.
